What to Expect
During treatment, you may feel a quick snapping sensation or warmth as the laser targets the hair. Cooling is used to help protect your skin and improve comfort, and your technician will check in throughout your appointment. Treatment time depends on the area being treated.
Temporary redness, sensitivity or small bumps around the follicles can occur afterward. Treated hairs gradually shed in the weeks following each session. Your technician will explain what to expect and provide aftercare instructions tailored to your treatment.
Pre-/Post-Treatment
Before your laser hair removal treatment, you should:
avoid prolonged sun exposure for 4 weeks prior to your first laser session. Skin cannot be suntanned at time of treatment.
avoid self-tanning products for 2 weeks prior. In between sessions is fine but skin needs to be free of self-tanners at the time of treatment.
shave area to be treated on the day of treatment prior to coming in unless instructed otherwise. A close shave is required.
advise your technician of any changes to your health and medications
refrain from waxing/plucking/tweezing/threading/electrolysis for 4 weeks prior to treatment (and no more after starting laser!) Shaving before and in between treatments is fine.
avoid retinol and very active skin care products for 5-7 days pre-treatment (only on areas being treated)
do not apply any lotions or oils on the skin prior to treatment on the day of.
After treatment, you should:
apply SPF 30+ to areas exposed to sun every 2 hours
avoid prolonged sun exposure for 4 weeks post-treatment
apply Zensa healing cream as necessary to soothe skin in treated areas
avoid excessive exercise for 2-3 days post-treatment
avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas for 2-3 days post-treatment
avoid retinol and very active skin care products for 5-7 days post-treatment (only on areas being treated)
exfoliate starting 1 week post-treatment to encourage hair to shed faster and help to lessen and prevent ingrown hairs

How does the laser work?
Our Clarity II and Triton lasers deliver light energy that is absorbed by the pigment in your hair. This energy converts to heat, damaging the follicle’s ability to produce new hair.
Because hairs grow in different cycles, a series of treatments is needed to target them during their active growth phase. Your technician will recommend a treatment plan based on your hair, skin and progress.
Does it hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as a quick snap against the skin. Your experience will vary depending on the treatment area and your individual sensitivity.
Clarity II uses cryogen cooling to help protect the skin and improve comfort during treatment, while Triton features built-in cooling. Your technician will check in throughout your appointment and adjust your treatment as appropriate.
We also offer topical numbing cream and additional Zimmer cryo-cooling.
How long do I have to wait between appointments?
This depends on the area being treated and your personal hair growth cycle. Generally, the wait is between 5–8 weeks.
Is the treatment safe?
Your care starts with a consultation to assess your skin, hair, medical history and suitability for treatment. Our certified laser technicians select settings for your individual needs and perform a patch test before starting treatment.
Clarity II’s real-time skin temperature monitoring provides additional feedback to help guide treatment. Temporary redness, sensitivity or small bumps around the follicles can occur afterward. Your technician will explain potential risks and provide instructions for caring for your skin.
Which skin types can be treated?
Our Clarity II and Triton technologies offer treatment options for all skin tones. Your technician will assess your skin and hair to choose the appropriate technology and settings for you.
Clarity II combines Alexandrite and Nd:YAG wavelengths, allowing treatments to be tailored for lighter and darker skin tones. A consultation is required to confirm suitability.
How long are the treatment sessions?
This depends on both the density of the hair as well as the area of the body being treated. Typically, an upper lip may only take a few minutes whereas other areas like legs have a larger surface area and will take longer. This is all discussed in detail at the free consultation.
