What is eCO2 3D Laser Resurfacing?

Give your skin a fresh start with eCO2 3D laser resurfacing. This advanced fractional CO2 treatment helps improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars and uneven texture, revealing smoother, refreshed-looking skin.

At Ottawa Laser Clinic, we use eCO2 3D by Cynosure Lutronic to tailor resurfacing to your skin and goals. The laser creates tiny channels in the skin, removing small areas of tissue and triggering a healing response that supports new collagen. Areas of untreated skin between these channels help with recovery.

Treatment depth and coverage can be adjusted for different concerns. During your consultation, we’ll discuss the improvements you’d like to see, the recovery involved and whether eCO2 3D is the right fit for you.

Benefits

eCO2 3D can soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve rough or uneven texture and reduce the appearance of selected acne scars. Treatment can also help improve the look of sun-damaged skin and overall skin quality.

As your skin heals and collagen develops, improvements continue over the following months. Results vary with your skin, the concern being treated and the intensity of your treatment.

Ideal Candidate

You may be a candidate if you’re concerned about wrinkles, acne scarring, sun damage or uneven texture and are comfortable allowing time for healing.

We’ll assess your skin tone, medical history, medications and ability to follow aftercare before recommending treatment. CO2 resurfacing requires particular care in skin prone to pigment changes. Active breakouts, infection, recent tanning or healing concerns may mean postponing treatment or choosing another option.

What to Expect

Your appointment begins with reviewing your treatment plan and preparing your skin. A topical anesthetic is commonly used to improve comfort. During treatment, you may feel heat or a prickling sensation; we’ll explain the comfort measures appropriate for your session.

Afterward, your skin may feel hot and look red or swollen. As it heals, it can develop a bronzed appearance, flaking or fine crusting. Deeper treatments may also cause some oozing. We’ll give you clear instructions for cleansing, protecting and caring for the treated area.

Recovery depends on the treatment depth, coverage and area. Plan for several days of visible healing; deeper resurfacing may require around one to two weeks of recovery, with redness lasting longer. We’ll discuss your expected downtime before you book.
